Become a MongoDB DBA: Backing up your data Backups in MongoDB aren’t that different from MySQL backups.You have to start a copy process, ship the files to a safe place and ensure the backup is consistent. The consistency is obviously the biggest concern, as MongoDB doesn’t feature a transaction mode that allows you to create a consistent snapshot.
